What is a ground screw or screw pile?
A ground screw or screw pile is essentially a large screw with one or more threads or sometimes know as helical blades. The ground screw is then firmly screwed into the ground using a range of machinery depending on the ground conditions and access, the ground screw is then anchored below the frost line by the screw blades, this completely eliminates any ground movement caused by frost and freezing of the ground in winter conditions.
Depending on the project our ground screws can utilise a range of different mounting brackets to suit your exact requirements. We can also design and manufacture bespoke brackets for custom projects.
The central shaft of the ground screw is available in several diameters to suit the required structural loading’s, the ground screw can be extended with extension pieces to match the precise ground conditions.
Ground screw threads allow for perfect drilling through the ground and are perfectly positioned and angled to allow careful control whilst the installation takes place.
